Summer Breeze
Summer Breeze
August 17th 2017
Summer breeze sure does make me feel fine.
On a scale from one to ten, my satisfaction is usually a nine.
It’s warm and sometimes sticky but I prefer this than the contrast.
Less clothes, icy drinks and romances that often never last.
I still feel like an overjoyed kid that’s just on a break from school.
A feeling of freedom and reckless abandon, a flimsy excuse to break a few rules.
Out late and drinking early. Work is merely a way to keep out of trouble.
Every night it’s cocktails and cute faces, while my social life continues to double.
In the beginning, it feels like the season will last forever. Sandals and tons of extra sun block to lend.
Then in August the sales start on backpacks and books; the realization that the fun is almost at an end.
I visit the beach, to enjoy the last bit of summer breeze; not excited for the cooler days ahead.
Within several months when this season restarts, my satisfaction and summer will once again wed.
